Our story

My name is Fernanda Paternò Castello and as a watercolorist my favorite theme has always been the Baroque of eastern Sicily. Although living in Catania, I have “landed” in Sampieri for about thirty years and my escapes in Casazzurra are frequent.

At the end of 2005 I had love at first sight for an old fisherman’s house…Right in front of my house.

Then a patient restoration followed to maintain its original appearance and provide it with every comfort, creating the two apartments Casa del pescatore and Casa di pietra. All this with the collaboration of my husband for everything related to rationality, of our daughter Eleonora, Graphic Designer and entrepreneur, with the love for everything that is tradition, with the passionate research of materials in use in the territory, with the meticulous choice of every accessory and the desire to make guests feel at home, making their stay unforgettable.

With us, from a early age, our son Claudio, a photographer with a degree in Medicine and studies in Psychotherapy, passionate about skateboarding… and sometimes surfing the waves of Sampieri.

We all love this place for its tranquility, for the inhabitants, for the geographical position, for the dazzling sun, for the clean and warm sea, for the beach with the dunes, for its insertion in an area rich in history.

What my guests tell me or leave me written on the Guest Book is a confirmation of being able to give them the hospitality I would like to receive during my travels.
